(Open to current and former ZMC students and staff members):

Prana is the Indian word for life giving force/breath of life.  In China this force is called Qi. In Thailand, this life giving energy is called Sen. Throughout the world, all traditional cultures have a name for this life giving energy. Traditional cultures believe that we are intrinsically connected to nature and, through this connection derive healing benefits from the experience of spending time in natural spaces. At ZMC we too believe that natural spaces provide healing energy that nurtures and gives strength to one’s mind, body and spirit. Spending time in nature is especially important for health practitioners so that they can support their own energetic and emotional health as they help improve the health of individuals, which they serve. Throughout the year, ZMC hosts a variety of Prana trips for our students.

Coping Skills Workshop

Have you ever noticed that it is easier to find things outside of ourselves to disconnect rather than having the internal skills to connect? When faced with confrontation, conflict, disappointment, stress, etc, we look outside of ourselves to numb out, disconnect or to avoid the discomfort. That comes from the fact that we often times have not developed the coping skills we need to feel better. Because we become so overly focused on the external sources of our discomfort, we look to external sources to bring us comfort. This workshop identifies coping skills that every human being needs to deal with everyday living. We become more grounded and comfortable within ourselves as we learn to be self-reliant. The ability to find resolution through coping skills gives us more control over our lives and makes it easier to navigate through difficult times.
